This is my favorite style of using the Tarot. The Celtic Cross focuses more on now then on the future, which is fine by me. The future is not set in stone, but with knowing about the now and the problem, you can understand it and take a better action. There is a total of 10 cards invovled in this reading.
Before I lay out the cards, I shuffle the deck. I shuffle until the cards tell me, it's time to lay them out. While I shuffle I think of the person (face and name) or just the problem that I need advice on. Once that it is done, it is time to lay out the cards.
Here is a link to the image of how the cards should be layed down. They are numbered in order in which they are laid: i13.photobucket.com/albums/a263/angelusk/CelticCross.jpg
I lay down the first card down, vertically in the center. Then I lay the second across the first. The third card goes at the bottom of the first two cards. Then the fourth goes to the upper left of the bottom card. Then The fifth card is placed above the first two cards laid down for the reading. The 6th is placed to the bottom right of the top card. This forms the basic cross. The next part of laying the cards is on the side of the cross. The cards laid down go up from the 7th to the 10th card.
The below are what the card indicates:
1) Current atmopshere/influences
2) Events arising from influences
3) Past events that serve as the foundation of the matter
4) Passing Influences
5) Preferences of the querent
6) Arriving Influences
7) General life of querent
8) Querent's strong points or advantages
9) The worries or biggest aspiration of the querent
10) The matter's conclusion.
